Why Study Nursing?

If you want to work in a healthcare setting, and enjoy working with and helping people from many walks of life, nursing will teach you the clinical skills needed for a successful career in a hospital, community health setting, long-term care, professional organization, or church. Clinical Experience

Students will complete eight clinical rotations with corresponding courses in fundamentals, adult, obstetrics, psychology, pediatrics, advanced medicine, community health, and residency—all in hospitals and community sites recognized for nursing excellence, including Swedish Hospital, NorthShore University HealthSystem, Lurie Children’s Hospital, Lawndale Community Health Center, and others.

Pre-Licensure

Nursing students earn a bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) degree, and graduate prepared to take the NCLEX-RN (National Council Licensure Examination) examination. Graduates who pass this exam become licensed as a registered nurse (RN) and eligible to work in a healthcare setting.

Application Process

Nursing major candidates apply and are admitted to the program after beginning their studies at ºÚÁϳԹÏ. Before beginning the nursing curriculum, students must complete all prerequisite courses, pass an entrance exam, and submit an application specific to the program for a consideration of acceptance into the nursing major.

Students of high academic achievement may qualify for Direct Admission.
