Peer Student Success Coaching (PSSC)
Peer Student Success Coaches act as mentors for incoming freshmen, assisting them in preparing for their inaugural year in college. They facilitate a seamless transition from high school to college life through active participation in NPU’s First Year Experience program.
Peer Student Success Coaching is accessible to first-year students, offering them the chance to enhance their soft skills, time management, and sense of belonging.
How Student Success Coaching Works:
- Students are placed into cohorts based on intended majors and added to their respective Microsoft Teams group.
- Coaches will reach out to students via email and Teams with helpful information.
- Monthly meetings with PSSC are required for all first-year students.
- Meetings will be one-on-one and scheduled via our.
- Students will receive an email and Microsoft Teams meeting link to their NPU email if meeting virtually.
- In-person meetings: PSSC will reach out to students with a meeting location.
- Topics for 1:1 meetings include making new friends, time management, procrastination, study skills, test anxiety, etc.
- PSSC will show you the ropes of college life as well as share advice to ensure a successful new year!
