Signage, Fundraising, and Distribution of Materials at Campus-Wide Events

ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï campus events are planned to celebrate the CC experience, renew friendships, build new relationships and foster continued engagement with the community. ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï campus-wide events are intended to educate, rather than be a vehicle for alumni, students and/or outside organizations to promote personal agendas.

Scope

All financial and administrative policies involving community members across campus, including volunteers are within the scope of this policy. If there is a variance between departmental expectations and the common approach described through college policy, the college will look to the campus community, including volunteers to support the spirit and the objectives of college policy. Unless specifically mentioned in a college policy, the college’s Board of Trustees are governed by their Bylaws.

Policy

The president of the college delegates administration of the college’s Signage, Fundraising, and Distribution of Materials at Campus-Wide Events policy to the vice president for  communications.

Signage

Banners and/or posters displayed at campus-wide events by any outside organization must be provided to the Office of Communications at least two weeks before the event. If banners or posters are displayed in Worner Center, size and location requirements must also be met.  Solicitation, sales and/or fundraising of any type, other than for ºÚÁϳԹÏ-managed programs, is not permitted on banners or posters.

Solicitation, sales and/or fundraising of any type, other than for ºÚÁϳԹÏ-managed programs, is not permitted during ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï campus-wide events.

Distribution of materials

During campus-wide events, a table(s) may be provided in the registration area or other designated location for distribution of approved materials.  Materials from outside organizations cannot be placed anywhere else on campus other than the designated distribution table(s).  Any materials placed at a distribution table(s) must be approved by the Office of Communications.  A copy of any materials to be placed at the distribution table(s) must be provided to the Office of Communications at least two weeks before the beginning of the campus-wide event.  Information pertaining to solicitation, sales and/or fundraising of any type, other than for ºÚÁϳԹÏ-managed programs, is not permitted in distributed materials. As a non-profit organization, the college must remain non-partisan. Political campaign materials may not be posted on campus grounds or in common buildings, with the exception of students' residences or employees' offices.  Political events promoted on the college's online calendar must clearly state who or which organization is sponsoring the event.
