University Vehicles

ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï maintains a fleet of vehicles for campus activity use. Their use is administered by the Office of Campus Safety.

We believe our employees and students are our most important assets, and take maintaining the safety of all of our people as a serious responsibility. Please familiarize yourself with our complete , and be specifically aware of the following items if you seek to drive a University-owned vehicle.

Driver Registration

To Drive a Car or Minivan:

  • You must have a valid driver’s license.
  • You must provide a certified copy of your motor vehicle driving record from your home state (must be obtained annually). Our insurance carrier will obtain driving records for faculty and staff.

To Drive a Full-Size Van:

  • You must have a valid driver’s license.
  • You must provide a certified copy of your motor vehicle driving record from your home state (must be obtained annually). Our insurance carrier will obtain driving records for faculty and staff.
  • You are required to pass the ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï online driver safety test.
  • You must pass the ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï road test.

First-year students are not allowed to drive a University vehicle unless they are working in a paid position on campus. Please note that all driver applicants may not be approved, or privileges for driving may be suspended or revoked, for reasons that include being identified as a high risk driver, violating campus driver policies, and violating state and federal laws. Procedures for Using a University Vehicle

Reserve a University vehicle through .

  • Reservations should be made as far in advance as possible, and only for the size of vehicle that is needed based on number of passengers.
  • All reservations must have proper authorization and registered drivers.
  • University vehicles may not be used between midnight and 5:00 a.m.
  • Keys and mileage cards will be available for pick-up at Campus Safety Office for approved reservations.
  • You are responsible to return the vehicle in the same condition in which you found it. Please report all damage and broken/missing equipment as soon as you discover it.
  • Please cancel your reservations should your travel plans change.
  • For trips longer than 400 total miles, you must either rent a vehicle from a commercial car rental agency or use a professional charter.
