Barbara Drapcho

Applied Instruction - Undergraduate

Barbara Drapcho, clarinet, holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Northwestern University. Her teachers have included Russell Dagon, Charlene Zimmerman, Alan Kay, and Dennis Nygren.

She is a member of Quintet Attacca, grand prize winner of the Fischoff Chamber Music Competition, former community outreach ensemble for Chicago Chamber Musicians ,and ensemble-in-residence at the Music Institute of Chicago. As a member of Quintet Attacca, she has performed on New York City’s Schneider Concert Series, Chamber Music Society of Detroit, and numerous Chicagoland series.

Her chamber music experience outside of Quintet Attacca includes performances with the Chicago Chamber Musicians and Milwaukee’s Present Music. Drapcho is also a member of New Philharmonic, has performed as a soloist with Chicago Arts Orchestra, and is a former member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. She has performed with orchestras throughout Chicago including the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. She is currently faculty at the Music Institute of Chicago.
