Dan works internationally on policy issues like innovation, anti-poverty, and anti-racism. He spent sabbatical at the NAACP Legal Defense Fund in support of racial equity. His research ranges from COVID public health outcomes to AI to international trade to entrepreneurial financing to microfinance to police responses to public protests and much more. Dan has started multiple companies with educational and environmental impact and in his TEDxYale talk, he speaks about using economics for “Simplicity and Changing the World.” His research has been covered by The Economist, BBC World Service, Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Fox Business News, Financial Times, CNN, Bloomberg Radio, The Times of India, MSNBC, and many more.

Tomi-Ann Roberts’s research, teaching, and advocacy in the areas of gender, emotions and aesthetics, center on her Objectification Theory, which examines the sexual objectification of girls and women, self-objectification, and the consequences of these for their embodied wellbeing. Objectification Theory is the most cited article in the history of the APA journal Psychology of Women Quarterly. Tomi-Ann has authored five books and co-authored (many with CC student collaborators) over 50 peer-reviewed articles and chapters. She leverages psychological science as a consultant for reproductive health related product brands, and as an expert witness in legal cases involving objectification as a form of gender discrimination.

As an English Professor, Claire specializes in Black history as portrayed through literature, particularly the experiences of late 19th and early 20th century women of the Black Atlantic. As Colorado State Historian, she is looking into more inclusive historical programming and exhibitions, sharing historical knowledge, and bringing new conversations to our understanding of Coloradans’ lived experiences and historical narratives. She was elected to the Executive Board of the largest international Black Studies organization, the Association for the Study of the Worldwide African Diaspora (ASWAD). Claire was named Pikes Peak Woman of Distinction in 2012.

As a key member of the ADEI team, Rosalie’s focus is on instilling antiracism, diversity, equity, and inclusion policies and practices at CC. She is the architect behind the HAVEN transfer program for students from states that have passed anti-DEI legislation. Author of Unsettled Waters: Rights, Law, and Identity in the American West (2019), Eric is a human-environment geographer and political ecologist. He can talk about water rights, water policy, and the problems of river compacts in the American West. His research also centers around how decolonizing conservation efforts, led by indigenous sovereigns in the Greater Southwest, might shape a more inclusive future for environmental conservation.

Doug is well-versed in state and federal judicial decisions and decision-making, including SCOTUS, as well as constitutional politics in the United Kingdom. He focuses on the courts and the judicial process, constitutional and comparative law, and politics of race and gender in the U.S. He has authored two university press books and his articles have appeared in the American Journal of Comparative Law, the Canadian Journal of Law and Jurisprudence, Polity, and more. He was a Fulbright Scholar at Queen Mary University of London, a Research Scholar at the University of Melbourne Law School, and a MacCormick Fellow at the University of Edinburgh Law School. Prior to his academic career, he was a litigator in state and federal courts in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.

Ian specializes in decarbonization, carbon accounting, sustainability reporting, carbon offset and REC markets, general water law and conveyance systems in Colorado, and Ecotourism. He can discuss CC’s path to carbon neutrality, making it the first campus in the state to reach a net-zero carbon footprint, and how Tutt Library was designed the nation’s largest academic net-zero energy library. Ian also supports incorporating sustainability concepts across the curriculum. Ian’s research focuses on how to mitigate the impact of climate change—such as increasing floods, droughts, and fires.

John’s specialty area includes the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the politics of central Europe and the western Balkans. His book, Fragile Dreams: Tales of Liberalism and Power in Central Europe, was published in 2021 and examines Central European communism, why it failed, and what has taken its place.
